Three Day Internal Auditor Training Workshop

The Internal Auditor Training Workshop is a three-day hands-on learning experience made up of discussion and "break-out" sessions in which participants are given activities and encouraged to work in teams, presenting their results to the group.

The training workshop is focused on the practical elements of conducting an Internal Compliance, or Management System Audit. The first day of the workshop is spent in the classroom discussing the theories and questions relating to the audit process and the criteria to be audited (ISO 14001 unless otherwise specified). Specific policies and procedures from your company's EMS / EHS Manual will be used as examples and guides. The second and third days are spent with participants actually practicing on-site internal audits in their own facility with the trainer, using the procedures and work instructions set out in the company's documentation. The Internal Auditing workshop covers the following areas:
  • What is an audit?;
  • Types of audits;
  • Auditor Skills
  • Planning the audit;
  • Pre-audit preparation;
  • Development of Checklist Questions -Who to ask: What evidence to look for Opening Meeting Conducting the audit; Closing Meeting Typical findings and typical nonconformances; Post-audit & follow-up; The audit report.

We recommend that a minimum of 6 and no more than 12 to 15 participants be included in the workshop for it to be most effective.
