| Types of Criteria
EHS Auditor Criteria (i.e. Audit checklists) is organized by type as follows:
- Federal Legislation - Criteria based on US Federal legislations, 40 CFR and specific sections of 49 CFR for Environmental Areas of Concern and 29 CFR Sections 1903 to 1910 for Occupational Safety and Health Administration Areas of Concern
- State Legislation - Criteria based on State legislation and administrative codes. In areas where the state requirements are very similar to the federal requirements, state notes are displayed within the federal question when there is a difference. Where state programs have more significant differences in industry requirements than the federal requirements or are not covered in federal legislation, then a specific checklist is created. The list of state notes and where they apply in the federal criteria as well as independent state area of concern are in this criteria type.
- City and Regional Legislation - Criteria based on city or regional by-laws are in this type.
- H.S.E.Q. Management System Criteria - Criteria derived from the requirements published by standard setting organizations. Conformance Check has developed criteria for the following management systems: ISO9000 for Quality, ISO14001 for Environmental, and OSHA 180001 for Health and Safety.
- Codes of Practice - Criteria derived from codes published by government, industry, standard setting associations and trade organizations
- Corporate - Criteria from specific corporate policies typically entered by the customer.
All Criteria Areas of Concern can be searched for specific terms and the industry requirements for the terms will be listed. For example a search for the term "inspection" in the "Requirements for Generators" area of concern in the "Hazardous Waste" division will display the "inspection" requirements of Hazardous Waste Generators. The EHS Auditor Question can be modified by adding your corporate interpretation of the questions to the notes. The response choices of the audit question can be modified by the user as well as other properties of the audit question. User modifications are protected from regulatory updates.
Click Here to see the Conformance Check Criteria Catalogue. The Catalogue will list the legislation in the jurisdictions covered in Conformance Check's criteria packages.
